What Is Calvary Academy?

Calvary Academy is an upcoming comic book series that expresses the gospel of Christ as well as other biblical truths and principles through an engaging story.  It follows the journey of Caleb Thompson, who, despite his glaring flaws, is chosen to be used by God as a Cadet of Calvary Academy.  This institute has stood for over a thousand years, training young men and women of God to battle against the evil spiritual beings known as Principalities. Though Caleb will have to struggle in fierce battles and navigate dangerous environments beside his fellow Cadets, his greatest obstacle will be that he doesn’t know the first thing about God…

Meet The Creator of Calvary Academy

Joel Minott is first a follower of Christ and is also both the writer and artist for Calvary Academy. Born in New York and now living in New Jersey, Joel grew up going to church weekly with his parents, though he himself didn’t truly accept Christ as his savior until years later. Though Joel made a profession of faith at a young age, was baptized as a teenager, continued to attend and serve in church regularly, he hadn’t completely given his life over to God until a few years later. By only the grace of God who kept him through the years, Joel finally began to truly understand the weight of sin and the importance of the gospel and Christian living. He had always desired to draw comic books/manga, and in God’s timing and for His glory Joel started coming up with ideas for a Christian based comic book series. His goal is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and portray important Biblical principles through the gift of art and storytelling God has given him.
